I am a self taught coder and software engineer with over 5 year of experience working in both the front-end and the back-end of web applications. My main skills include React, Ruby on Rails, Node and Drupal and I am particularly interested in how modern web technology can be used in the healthcare and education sectors. I am also interested in machine learning and data science and the ever increasing role that big data has to play in the future.
Total Care Manager is a patient care documentation and team management application. This startup, which I founded, combines 13 years of my experience working as a carer with my web developing skills. The application is designed to reduce risk for vulnerable patients by helping carers to consistently deliver higher quality care. For this project, I have worked in Drupal, Ruby on Rails, React and Node and have been using the initial application to help manage a care team of 15 users for the last 3 years.

I worked on testing out a new in-store webapp for Levis with the Sharpend agency. For this we built a NextJs mobile app, with Redux, which allowed in store users to view trousers availble and in stock and then get a QR code so they could order them. The aim of this was to save in store space and staff numbers needed.
For Provenance I was building new features for their platform with my focus being on the backend work particularly building out migrations, models, controller and view templates. This work also included unit and end-to-end tests.
For Apidura I have been working freelance to create 30 data scrapers which collect and store desired product information on a daily basis. For this project I have been working with @peabay in NodeJS with Nightmare and Puppeteer used to enable the async data scraping and mongo used as the backend to store the data. We then used React and Express to create a dashoard allowing the scrapers to be controlled and the Monogo data to be visualised.
I built a Drupal 7 CMS website for the Tocqueville society in 2014. For this project I worked closely with 2 designers to create a modern and arty CMS website.
For Fuse Universal, I worked as an e-learning platform researcher. I also helped to build out their client facing HTML pages and gained invaluable insight into how tech startup companies run.
